eSIM: Get started and set it up

eSIM: The digital SIM card

The eSIM is the digital successor to the traditional SIM card. Instead of inserting a physical card, an eSIM is built directly into your device and receives all the information you need from a digital eSIM profile.


With an eSIM, you can easily use multiple numbers on the same smartphone, activate or switch profiles digitally, and enjoy full flexibility without waiting for postal delivery or searching for the right SIM card format. All CHmobile mobile subscriptions and prepaid products are available with eSIM.

Ready to go: Activate or switch your eSIM digitally at any time. No waiting time for postal dispatch or collection.

Total flexibility: Use multiple numbers and plans on one device. Easily switch profiles if necessary.

Order an eSIM

For new orders:

① Select the eSIM option when ordering your mobile subscription.

② Once your subscription is activated, your eSIM QR code will be available in your my CHmobile account.


For existing customers:

Log in to your my CHmobile account and request an eSIM under My Settings > Switch to eSIM.

② After completing the order, your eSIM QR code will be available in your my CHmobile account.

Alternatively, you can convert a physical SIM card to an eSIM (on the same device) without needing a QR code. Click here to see how to do it.

Set up your eSIM

With an eSIM profile as a QR code:

① On your device, go to Settings > Mobile Network > Add eSIM and scan the QR code.

② Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.


With an eSIM profile without QR code:

If your eSIM is linked to your device, you’ll automatically receive a message on your phone and can complete the installation by following the on-screen instructions.

Convert your SIM to eSIM

As a CHmobile customer, you can easily convert your physical SIM card to an eSIM directly on your current device – without needing a QR code.

Transfer your SIM or eSIM to a new device

If you get a new smartphone, you can easily move your existing SIM to your new device – either by transferring your eSIM from your old device, or by transferring your physical SIM card to your new device as an eSIM during setup.
